Market Business Leader
Jennifer Didlo’s recent appointment as Market Business Leader for the Western Portion of the United States for AES in addition to her responsibilities as President of AES Southland and AES Hawaii is a culmination of more than 20 years of leadership experience in power generation, including 15 years in California, Hawaii and Texas. AES’s Western portfolio includes more than 3,900 MW of natural gas fired generation, 125 MW of wind generation and 32 MW of solar projects. For the past six years, Ms. Didlo has led the business development effort for AES West including the redevelopment of the California thermal generation fleet. Prior to her current role, from 2005-2009, Ms. Didlo was President and Plant Manager of AES Deepwater in Houston, Texas; a 140MW petroleum coke fired generation facility and AES’ first operating plant. During that time, she also performed various development activities including the operations and maintenance for the acquisition of what is now called AES SeaWest, enabling AES to enter the wind business. Previously, she was the President and Plant Manager of AES Placerita in Santa Clarita, California from 1999-2002 during California’s deregulation era. Ms. Didlo joined AES in 1998 to support the purchase and transition of the Southland assets from Southern California Edison to AES. Prior to working at AES, Ms. Didlo held Plant Manager, supervisory and engineering positions at Southern California Edison across multiple locations. She was an integral member of the SCE divestiture team during California’s electrical deregulation. She holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the California State University at Long Beach and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo.
