This mainly comes from hydro and wind power with batteries and flywheels as support. As system engineer, Colin Young is working on many projects from OH and UG line design, to power factor correction and frequency stability. As a generation, transmission and distribution provider, KEA has many unique and interesting challenges. His current projects include advanced metering infrastructure implementation, GIS integration and line loss reduction. Colin holds a B.S. and M.S. in electrical engineer from Montana State University with a focus in frequency stability in microgrids, and he is a member of the Kodiak Island Borough Architectural and Engineering Review Board.
