Vice President, Project Development
Mark Stout, Vice President, Project Development, has served the renewable power and computer technology industries since 1990. He trained as both an electrical engineer, and energy technology and policy analyst.
Mark most recently served in various roles working on utility-scale PV projects, including site identification and acquisition, permitting, PV technology assessment, and generation modeling for CalRENEW-1. He led a project development team for three 20 MWac PV projects in Kings County, CA, and was on the project development team for a 150 MWac site in San Luis Valley. He has 840+ MWac of solar PV project experience, including development and operational stage projects.
Mark has been instrumental in the siting, lease negotiations, financial modeling, ESA negotiations, and civil and electrical engineering for Energy Nuevo, and would be responsible for the electrical and civil design of the proposed project. He also oversees project management for Amber Kinetics energy storage demonstration project with Hawaiian Electric Company (HECO), due to become operational in May of 2017.
Mark graduated summa cum laude in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois-Urbana and earned a master’s degree in energy and resources from UC-Berkeley.
