Bernie Kotlier directs the development, promotion, and delivery of sustainable energy business development programs, education, and training for electrical contractors who are members of the National Electrical Contractors Association (http://www.necanet.org/), and IBEW electricians, in California and Nevada including energy auditing, energy efficiency, photovoltaics, zero net energy buildings, electric vehicles, energy storage, and micro-grids.
Bernie has been a member of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) Advisory Committee on Energy Efficiency Workforce Development, the CPUC Working Group on Lighting, the State of California Schools of the Future Initiative Advisory Committee, and the California Air Resources Board advisory committee on Zero Emission Buses. He currently serves on a number of boards and commissions in these capacities: co-chair of the California Advanced Lighting Controls Training Program (www.CALCTP.org), national co-chair of the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Training Program / EVITP (http://evitp.org/), member of the CPUC Energy Efficiency Coordinating Committee, and member of the boards of directors of the California Clean Energy Fund / CalCEF (www.calcef.org), CalCharge (www.calcharge.org), and NAATBatt (http://naatbatt.org/about/board-of-directors/).
Prior to his work with the electrical contracting industry, Bernie directed business development for Solectria Renewables in the Western U.S., was President of Brunswick Bicycles International, President of Bell Sports Specialty Retail Division, and President of Service Cycle/Mongoose. He has also been a published contributor to the Harvard Business Review.
