Richard WaljeRichard Walje is the CEO of both Magnum CAES, LLC and Magnum Generation, LLC. In these roles, his objectives are to educate and deliver the development and use of compressed air energy storage and natural gas generation using its Gulf Coast quality salt dome located at Magnum's Delta, Utah site. These projects will facilitate the region's transition to increasing use of renewable energy to meet Western customers' energy, environmental and economic goals. 

Rich is also CEO of RAW-Energy, Inc., an energy consultancy focusing on strategic planning to support the industry’s transition to a cleaner future.

He has had a varied career in the electric industry including: working as an IBEW journeyman lineman, a field engineer for General Electric, a substation design engineer for Utah Power & Light and is a seasoned utility veteran with a diverse resume comprised of senior management and executive positions with Utah Power, Rocky Mountain Power, PacifiCorp and ScottishPower; including Chief Information Officer of ScottishPower and President and Chief Executive Officer of Rocky Mountain Power and the Gateway Transmission Projects.

Rich has a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration degree, both from the University of Utah, and a certificate of completion from the University of Michigan's electric utility executive program. He was recognized as a distinguished alumnus of the U.'s Electrical and Computer Engineering college and by the Utah Association of Energy Users for his long service and contributions to the electric utility industry. He is a member of the Eta Kappa Nu and Tau Beta Pi engineering honor societies. He as a long history of supporting non-profit and community philanthropic activities and currently serves on the Buffalo Bill Center of the West's Board of Trustees, the University of Utah's Eccles Business School's National Advisory Board, the Idaho National Laboratory's Strategic Advisory Committee as Chairman, and Envision Utah’s Education Steering Committee.

He likes motorcycling, walking, hiking, biking, golfing, reading, and pontificating - especially on the West's electric energy and environmental future.
